Synthetic weaving and natural hazel have different characteristics. Synthetic branches are designed for long-term outdoor use and need no painting or staining. Hazel is untreated wood that turns grey and eventually needs replacing. Choosing sustainably starts with understanding these differences and having realistic expectations for use.
Synthetic weaving does not need annual painting or trimming. Clean it with water when necessary and ask for advice on your chosen finish if deposits are stubborn. Check posts, hinges and fixings too. Less maintenance for the branches does not mean the whole structure never needs attention.

We work with a local partner for the frames. Synthetic offcuts from the workshop are sorted and processed by a local partner for road construction applications. Height, ground conditions, wind and anchoring must work together. Coastal sites may need extra attention to corrosion protection; exposed sites require a focused assessment of the supporting structure. We therefore select the design for each project rather than applying one solution everywhere.
When choosing, also compare cleaning, possible replacements and the condition of individual components. Keep the details of your installation and contact us with photos if damage occurs. We will assess what is technically possible. Long service life depends on both materials and correct use; promising a fixed lifespan for every situation would not be honest advice.
A wood-fibre finish gives synthetic weaving a natural appearance, but does not make it an all-wood product. A careful comparison of materials’ environmental impacts requires data covering the full life cycle. Discuss any project requirements beforehand so it is clear what supporting information is available and needed.

No, our synthetic weaving needs little maintenance. Occasional cleaning with water is usually enough to remove dirt. Painting, oiling or an annual protective treatment is unnecessary. This saves time and avoids the repeated use of maintenance products.
Our synthetic weaving is UV-resistant and suitable for outdoor use in every season. The branches withstand temperatures from −30 °C to +80 °C. The right posts, frame finish and installation are also important for a durable overall structure. We advise you on the design that suits your garden and its exposure to the weather.
Hazel is a natural, untreated material that gradually turns grey and lasts around five years on average, depending on moisture and exposure. Our synthetic weaving retains a natural appearance and is designed for a longer lifespan with minimal maintenance. The best choice depends on the look you want, the application and your long-term expectations.
